Platform (Blockchain Platform)

A platform, in the context of cryptocurrency trading pertains to the blockchain platform. This allows for the development of blockchain-based applications. These applications may either be permissioned or are bereft of it altogether. 

A blockchain is basically a platform that has a scripting language that has the ability of solving many use cases other than cryptocurrencies. 

Cryptocurrencies like Etheeum, Hyperledger, R3, Ripple, and EOS are just a few examples of known digital assets that have established notable blockchain frameworks. These permit token holders develop and host applications on the blockchain. 

As of writing, there are a total of 25 blockchain platforms in existence in the cryptocurrency market.
