Weak Hands

While it sounds highly derogatory, the term, “Weak Hand” had come to be accepted by the trading industry to pertain to traders and investors who are easily swayed into selling at the first sign of a market decline.

Individuals branded with “Weak Hands” are seen to be lacking conviction in carrying out the strategies that they had chosen to employ. They only buy during market highs and sell on lows. Logic dictates that these individuals are only setting themselves up for greater losses.

A lesser-known meaning of the term is a Futures Trader who apparently does not have any intention of taking or providing delivery of an underlying asset.
