However, I agree that it struggles a bit in sideways conditions. The lack of noise is great when the market is trending, but in choppy markets, it can give false signals.
I’ve been combining Supertrend with RSI for confirmation, and I’ve seen it improve the accuracy of entries and exits. I haven’t yet experimented much with MACD or volume spikes, but I’m curious if they would add more reliability in trend-following setups.
As for settings, I’ve adjusted them slightly depending on the asset and timeframe. I typically use a slightly longer ATR period (like 10, 3), and it’s been working well in markets with less volatility. Would be great to compare notes on how others are tuning these settings.
